How to Eliminate the Mower Deck on a Kubota BX2660

The Kubota BX2660 is a compact utility tractor which was fabricated and sold from 2008 to 2013. Whether you have an older or later model, you might occasionally need to remove the mower deck to replace a belt or even to clean or lubricate the machine. Kubota has reduced the process to some straightforward actions which make it possible for an inexperienced turtle owner to eliminate the deck efficiently.

Park the tractor on a level surface, set the parking brake and remove the key from the ignition. Make sure that the motor has cooled in the event the machine was formerly in use. Disconnect the spark plug wire before beginning maintenance or repairs.

Set the lever which controls the height of the mowing deck to the lowest position so the deck sits on the Landscaping. Pull all the pins which connect the linkage to the mower deck from hand. Put the pins aside in a secure place for reinsertion when you crawl the deck to the mower.

Pull gently and securely on the drive belt to disconnect it from the mower and eliminate it from the pulley around that it’s routed. If necessary, transfer the mower deck toward the pulley to allow more slack from the belt and allow it to be much easier to eliminate.

Grasp the mower deck and then slip it out from beneath the machine. Reattach the mower deck to the tractor once you have completed the essential maintenance or repairs.
