Can a Microfiber Sofa Get Wet?

Microfiber sofas are made from commercial grade cloths with man-made fibers which are naturally resilient to stains and spills. They are not as absorbent since the fibers are smaller, thinner and more tightly packed throughout the process. This makes it less likely that you will experience water stains if your microfiber couch does get wet but you will still must act fast to dry the cloth.

Easy Does It

The stain-resistant attributes of microfiber mean that spills can be wiped up readily until they do much damage. Soak water spills up and leave the couch. Other liquids can cause discoloration should they sit too long, thus wipe up them and treat the stain with a cloth dipped in a solution of gentle, clear soap and warm water. Scrub gently and dry in air. Other moisture to be concerned about with chairs and microfiber couches is perspiration. The salt in sweat may cause stains that are difficult to eliminate.

Super Soaking

Microfiber couches can become moist and soaked throughout if subjected to a legitimate dousing from inner room sprinklers or other resources of water. If this occurs, call a professional upholstery cleaner to remove the try and water recovery.
